Vice Minister Zhang Taolin Attends 12th Berlin Agriculture Ministers’ Conference

Vice Minister Zhang Taolin delivered a speech on promoting agricultural development through trade at the 12th Berlin Agriculture Ministers' Conference and Global Forum for Food and Agriculture (GFFA) in Berlin on Jan.18, 2020.  

  

Vice Minister Zhang Taolin highlighted the achievements in promoting agricultural opening up and agricultural trade in China.  He also proposed cooperative initiatives to further open agricultural markets, strengthen coordination in global agricultural trade policy, and promote a just and fair agricultural trade order, which was well- received at the Conference.  

      

Taking the theme on "Food for All! Trade for Secure, Diverse and Sustainable Nutrition', this year's GFFA aimed to foster trade for global food security, make trade work for agricultural development and enhance sustainability and nutrition, and secure inclusive development. Global Forum for Food and Agriculture Communiqué 2020 was released after the conference.  

  

During his stay in Berlin, Vice Minister Zhang Taolin held bilateral talks with Hans-Joachim Fuchtel, Parliamentary State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture of Germany. He also met with heads of several national delegations including Sergey Levin, Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, and representatives of international organizations including FAO Director-General Qu Dongyu, exchanging views on deepening multilateral or bilateral cooperation in agriculture.
